(NASDAQ:DTSI): Pioneering HDTV service Euro1080 has announced that it will implement aacPlus/DTS multi-channel audio with its switch from MPEG-2 to higher quality MPEG-4 HD transmissions. The broadcaster, which switched to the higher quality MPEG-4 transmissions across all of its channels on 2 January, will deliver aacPlus multi-channel audio over the satellite to consumer's new generation of MPEG-4 set top boxes for HDTV, where it is transcoded to DTS Digital Surround, for decoding in home theatre systems in the usual way.

CNN TO AIR IN HDTV
CNN will become the first cable news network to broadcast in high definition when it launches CNN-HD this fall, the network announced Tuesday. Home satellite operator DirecTV immediately announced that it will carry the HDTV broadcasts. DirecTV was acquired last month by John Malone's Liberty Media from News Corp, which owns the Fox News Network, CNN's principal rival.

Evergreen Allows You to Connect Two HDMI Devices to One HDMI Input ...
If you are the owner of a HDTV, even a mere year or so old you may be stuck with a problem you havent even noticed yet, one HDMI port. A while back, one HDMI port was enough and many HDTVs shipped with a single. However, as any one who has jumped into the HD age can tell you one HDMI doesnt really cut it. You need one for your HD Cable or satellite converter and one for your Blu-ray or HD DVD player at a minimum. Unless you enjoy making trips to the TV to change your HDMI cable form the cable box to your high def DVD player you are going to need something like this switch from Evergreen. .
